Search. Try seaching the texas forum. I don't think you have a sniffer in texas, so what cam it is really shouldn't matter. You'll have to find out exacty what kind of test you have to pass. Even though your exhaust is illegal I'm sure you can pass just fine.

there is a sniffer in tx.. it depends on what county your in. i dont think it will pass, but if you get a very very very conservative tune, then maybe you may have a shot.

There are only three counties in Texas that have emissions testing, one in the DFW area, one around Houston, and El Paso. If you aren't living in one of those three, emissions testing is not even a concern. Most people I know don't even have cats on their cars and most mechanics are too damn lazy to look underneath anyways.

Im in houston, and our emission testing is you going to get the computer scanned to make sure your not throwing any codes, then a visual. You can run as big of a cam as you would like in texas, without any problems.

in tx there are about 20 counties that must be by the end of the years so dont be to surprised if you get checked by a sniffer. you cant go to a different county they check. when i moved to austin (used to be no emissions here) from dallas i had to get a copy of my lease before they would inspect my car because dallas is emissions compliant. aftermarket cats are illegal? i have gmmg exhaust (sorry forgot to post that earlier).
thanks stangkiller, so what do i say to the tuner when i get it done so i dont throw any codes? and does anyone know if austin uses codes like houston or actual sniffer?

Acutally, they often are illegal. We'll ignore that, though, as nobody really cares. What's illegal is moving the cats from their factory location. Your macs make the exhaust illegal, regardless of whether or not you have cats.

as long as the SES light isnt on you will pass emissions. This goes for all 1996 and up cars.
