Question Oil pressure sendfing unit

Ok guys, I accidentaly broke the wire on the connector to the oil pressure sending unit. I soldered it back together and then put the intake back on. Now my oil pressure is maxed out.

I know I have oil pressure but why would this be maxing out the guage?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

senders usualy do that if you have the poles reversed or the wire is grounding out.

If the oil sending unit circuit is open, it will read max pressure.

have you code checked and see what it says. i would think that any abnomality (low or high pressure indication) would trip the ses. just my thought tho.

I broke my oil pressure sender by pushing too vigorously while installing a Z06 manifold. I drove the car like this for 2 years with no SES light. A cheap source for a replacement is gm parts direct, but I decided I did not want to wait for 2 weeks for their order fulfilment process so I stumped up the $50 at my local bill heard. BTW part number for '99 Z28 is 12562267, I noticed Corvettes have a different part #.
