Default 106 Lsa?

Whats the advantage to running such a low LSA? I listened to a clip on LS1sounds and it sounds NASTY...I like it

What do you gain/lose with a 106LSA as compared to a 112? More torque? Good for the track, bad for street? What else?

Cams with a tight lsa like a 106 will shorten the powerband but make it more intense. Usually, for street engines you'll want a wide powerband because you drive at different rpms, not only at wide open throttle. A strip engine can effectively use a shorter powerband by making appropriate drivetrain changes such as gears & torque converter.

The 106 lsa cams are popular SBC circle track cams. The circle track guys are almost always racing within a narrow powerband that can take advantage of this characteristic.

Lower LSAs don't lower the peak power in RPMs? To clarify, I'm not asking if it lowers to peak power, I'm asking if a lower LSA makes the power peak earlier in the RPM range.

Yes a low lsa will peak earlier in the rpm range as opposed to a high one. A 106 lsa on any decent sized cam would be a nightmare to tune I'd imagine. Not to mention the piston-valve clearance issues caused by running a lower lsa.
