Default can it be done....

Never tried it before but can a crankshaft and connecting rods be changed in an Ls1 fbody IN CAR? i know the K member would have to be removed to perform it. but is it possible to do it without having to pull apart the top half of the engine?

You have to remove the pistons to change rods and you can't pull the pistons out the bottom. By the time you have to pull the K-member, pan, and heads it will probably be easier to pull the motor and work on a stand.

I agree by the time you get done removing every thing to get the rotating assembly out you would of probly been faster and easier to pull the hole moter. If you decide to pull it from the bottom take the trans with it, also with the trans out it a good time to upgrade the clutch if you havent done so already.
