Default 1.8 R/r Install 99 Z-28

Do you have to get a tune on your car after 1.8 r/r install ? Would i still use my stock push rods ? Car still has stock cam.

Why would you install just rocker rollers? I would think for the money you spent on that you could have bought headers, T/B, juice, or MAF. Never heard of anyone just changing out roller rockers to add horses with everything still stock. Sorry

Now you've heard of someone who put in roller rockers only. I didn't want to screw with all the other stuff. I didn't "need" a tune after my VHP 1.85 r/r install on my stock cam. In essence you should get a tune if you want to get the most hp/torque out of your engine even if you don't change a thing. I guess you can use the stock push rods. My rockers came as a kit from Vinci and included hardened push rods and guides. Stock push rods supposedly flex too much and rob you of some hp. I can't say if that's really true or not.

yeah i've heard of a few also. i didn't tune for my vinci/crane 1.8 accelerated lift rockers on stock cam. as far as using the stock pushrods depends on what brand you get. the vinci/crane come with rockers, posi-locks, guidelplates, screw-in-studs and chrome-moly pushrods. here's the graph ofthe wife's car when i added them.

dyno 9 before
dyno 11 500 miles later
dyno 14 10 months later

I think the stock pushrods are too long to use with the Crane/Vinci rockers. You need new ones anyways. I am installing them at this time.

I didn't think to measure the pushrods that came with my Crane/Vinci rockers. It may well be true that they require a shorter pushrod.

yes, the vinci/crane rocker kit requires shorter pushrods. that's why they are supplied.
