I think that you may be referring to M1 5W-40 Truck and Diesel Motor Oil. I don't believe that M1 makes a 10W-40, but i may be wrong. I just switched over to the 5W-40 from the 10W-30, and wow, what a difference! You can find it at Wal-mart in the 5 qt. jugs as well as individual 1 qt bottles. HTH

No, im saying that the 5W-40 is the oil that i would go with. I previously used the 10W-30, but didnt have the best results with it. I was told by many knowledgeable people on this forum to switch to the 5W-40. And ill tell ya what, they were 100% right.

Do you also use the Mobil One 10W-40 truck oil, or do you use a different brand? Thanks for all the help!!

What differences did you see when switching from 10w 30 to 5 w 40?

Mobil 1 does make a synthetic 10w40 now. It's part of their new Extended Performance line of oils. It is a hard viscosity to find though.

ive been told that you do not want to run the mobil filter. yes it is the best filter but its too good. it doesn't allow oil to flow through fast enough at high rpm. just what i have heard though. in diesel trucks i thought most ran rotellaT 15W40?
