Default Ported LS6 oil pump

ok well my car runs great but i am wanting to change the oil pump anyways since it is a 98, and when i drive for a bit the oil pressure drops and bounces around. i know it has to be the oil pressure sending unit and i will get that fixed, but i am wondering what will a ported LS6 oil pump do better than a non ported one?? and it wont hurt my slightly modded car will it?

Most people who switch to an ls6 pump go to a ported one, i guess its suppose to flow a lil better but who knows, sticking with the stock ls1 pump is a gamble, mine lasted me 125k and it was still good when i changed it, but i consider that lucky, the ls6 pump wont hurt your car at all, but while your in there, i'd change out the cam!
