Default Another what heads should I go with thread...

Well I decided to buy the f-4 cam (226 226 114) and I am hoping that with a good tune it will pass smog here in Cali.

So now onto the heads - In your guys opinion what would be the best heads for that cam? I am thinking of going with some stage 2 heads (5.7). Is there that big of a difference between stage 1.5 and stage 2? Should I raise the compression and go with some stage 2 5.3 heads instead? Kinda lost on what the best setup for me would be.

ET Performance's 5.3L head would be what I recommend. It flows right at 330 CFM and has made over 460RWHP in stock bottom-end applications. They are priced just right too.

good deal thanks!

What if I go with a 100 shot later on? would the 5.3 heads work well with that?

The 100 shot will like the added compression a 5.3 head can bring.

So the ET 5.3L heads are going to be the cheapest route? Is it worth spending the extra $ to get the 205's?

I highly doubt the et are any less than the afr's they might cost more. The et 11 deg heads will probibly outperform the afr's there is no proof of that though. I just know the 11 deg valve angle is the **** and afr does not offer that.

Our brand new Stg 1 5.7 head just outpowered our own 5.3 head to the tune of 451 RWHP, (the 5.3 are usually in the 440 range) all at the price of $999 exchange, I guarantee it will outpower anything within $500!!

Stage 1's huh? what kind of power do you think I will put down with the f4 cam with those heads? What would it be compared to some stage 2's?
