Default Micropolishing the crank question

When i see people say they had this crank micro polished or polished does that mean that it was cut and polished or do they jsut mean it was touched up adn they use teh same size bearings that it used pre polish.
And if anyone knows can ya tell me what the stock size is on teh crank main and rod journals? Thanks

When you polish a crank you use a abrasive strip (a lot like sand paper) to polish the crank throws to improve the surface finish. This takes off a very small amount of material so you can still use the stock size bearings.

If you have a re-grind on a crank you will go .010, .020, .030 or more undersize on the mains and rods so your bearings will have to be that much smaller.
