why do you choose to run those particular brands...why not something like K&N or fram?

Fram = Crap
K@N = Overpriced

Napa Gold = Wix Very well made filter, flows good, filters good, silicone antidrainback valve and is priced good at $5.

Awhile back, someone did a write up for this. I think it was when I had a GN...so might be somewhere on GNType.org. But nevertheless, concluded Fram was garbage and WIX was the best bang for the buck.

I use Delco oil filters on both my cars.
Having a girlfriend that works at a dealership is nice.

Wix & Napa gold are the same thing I believe. I use Napa gold. K&N is definately overpriced and Fram is junk. I use AC Delco on my daily driver.

Same reasons above.

Fram.........Junk.
K&N............Overpriced
Wix= Nappa Gold..........BEST filter available.

I use the K&N because it flows excellent, but yet it filters well enough to give me excellent oil analysis results with very low wear metals. I don't care how much it costs since I only change my oil twice a year (or about every 8-10k)

AC Delco, for the record if you live in a dusty environment you may want to change your oil every 5000 miles. Also if Patman is so bound by the K&N then why does his 98 formula have AC Delco.

I run the K&N long filter (for the 6.0 engines) b/c it does filter well and it can hold a bit more oil.

I haven't had that 98 Formula since the end of 2000, so who cares what I ran on it back then! I now own a C5 and have run nothing but K&N filters on it. I began using K&N oil filters on my cars about four or five years ago. I didn't know half as much about oil filters back in 1998 as I do now. Back then I believed the AC Delco Ultraguard was one of the best out there, but now I know the truth.
