Question about main caps
I had a spun rod bearing so I had to pull the motor apart. After getting everything fixed it was seen that the main caps do not go back in flush. My question is, are you supposed to replace those bolts & could that be the reason the caps are not going back in right?
Any help is appreciated.

Yep they are the originals. They were fine when they came out, and I put them back on to take to the machine shop & they fit fine then too. I called TSP and was told it shouldn't matter which bolts are used as far as fitting goes, but I will probably replace them anyway. Still unsure as to why they wouldn't fit and sit flush though?

Well first did they do any work to them? like line bore the mains? if not did they put them all back in the same spot? did they turn any around (front to back)? there could be alot of little things like that, that could be easy to screw up and also to fix.
