Default LS1 doesn't want to stay running

This is kinda a hybred, kinda a general LS1 question so if it doesn't belong here mods please move it. I swapped a LS1 into my 00 S10 pickup. I have the truck running good except 1 problem. Truck starts to go into closed loop and it doesn't want to keep running. You let it cool down all the way and it starts and runs good. Once it starts to warm up it begins to miss, stumble, and die. You have to keep your foot in the gas to keep it running right. It's running alittle rich I think but not sure. It doesn't have an exhaust on it yet just open headers. The miss and stumble almost seems like a cylinder is missing. I have NGK TR55's in it. I also have a set of Taylor wires on it. Engine specs are TEA 5.3's with a TR224 cam on a 114 LSA. When I first got it running it was firing on all 8 cylinders, so I don't think I have an internal issue here. It seems like the plugs are fouling out. Do you think I should try the next range colder plug and see what happens? The motor sat for along time with some oil in the cylinders to keep rust off the cylinder walls and such so maybe they are just oil fouled. I haven't pulled the plugs yet to see, but it seems like that is the culpret. I have the truck 100% wired up right as far as I can tell. The funny thing is that the truck runs better with the MAF unhooked once the truck warms up vs hooked up. You can't keep it running if the MAF is hooked up.

Do you have a stock MAF or ported?

Sounds like you need a Speed Density tune.

truck has a newer Vortec MAF with the IAT sensor built in. It is one of those calibrated units from SDPC. Truck still doesn't want to run with it hooked up, it's just alittle more tolerate that's all.

Well, figured out what it is. Carbon fouling. I knew it was running rich but think it was running that rich. Threw a new set of cheapo $1.xx something autolites in it and bam off and going again no hitch. At idle it really runs rich so a tune is in order to say the least. http://www.geocities.com/jays_s10/Truckrunning1.JPG http://www.geocities.com/jays_s10/Truckrunning2.JPG
