Default Z06 heads on my LS1

will Z06 heads fit on my 02 ls1 without any problems.. Im having valve problems, and i would love to just change the heads..The ls6 heads is all i want to do..Will it fit without any other modding??

Yes. the only difference between a LS6 an LS1 is the heads and cam, they use the same block so the bolt holes for the heads are the exact same. The LS6 ZO6 heads will bolt right in without any mods required.

if you plan on caming the car at anytime, while you have the heads off id suggest changing the lifters because thats the only way you can get to them. but yes, LS6s bolt right up

Yep, they bolt right up. About a 2 hour job.

What are you waiting for? bolt them on. Also, if you by the cam tools from Thunder Racing, you can change the cam very easily without removing the heads!

what are the performance gains from this?? does anyone have any idea? I need to change my rods too

The whole point of his post was to swap the heads....


Ls6 heads are the way to go if there ported CNCed & milled. You can buy some stage 2 ls6 heads for about 1295 from patriot & yes they will be complete with springs and all that good stuff. Now, stock Ls6 heads will not be worth the head ache. The gains will be minimal & not worth it. If you have the heads off it'll be just about another hour to completely do a cam swap.
