Default High mileage cam install

I have a 98z, it has about 76000 miles on it and i wanted to install headers trex cam fast intake and other little bolt ons. I was wondering if all the bolt ons and especially the cam would hurt the motor considering it has alot of miles. Thanks would really appreciate anybodys input.

I just done one on a 90,000 mile motor. Did cam, pushrods, headers, ory pipe, oil pump, and timing chain. Runs like a champ. With a dyno tune.

I got my cam put in, and I'm well over 100k. Didnt change timing belt or oil pump though, may do that later. If the timing belt is tight, I wouldnt worry about it. If you have good oil pressure, same thing there unless you have the money to spend on it. At the time I did mine, I didnt have it.

I plan on installing a cam only next year w/anticipated 75K miles.........bottom end should be fine despite the high mileage. You'll be changing springs out in 30K anyhow, so you may consider an engine rebuild after 100K miles. If you aren't experiencing power loss, or leakage issues, GO FOR IT!

BTW, FSFB (First State F-body) is having a bunch of guys (PA/DE/NJ) racing at Cecil County Dragway this weekend (10/29)......along w/some Mustang club attendees (Now that should prove to be interesting)

Attendees:

BAD67
zupmanZ28
OnyxZ28
jaysz2893
TheCamel
ScreaminChicken (pending finding the track )
Z-BAD (riding with ScreaminChicken so he don't get lost)
ToxicFormula
RubberBurningSS (coming with Jay)
JimW
Z2.8
kmh022003
Zentenk
ZZ4 GTA (should be?)
Blu94TAGT
396Hawk
Sprayed96SS
hazesZ28
Nostang (most likely)
NJSPDR
Nubbz33
cambull23
fbodytheantirice
30thAnnivZ
pnut
6speedZ (finally came home)

SOUTHERN FOLKS:
We will meet at the WAWA in Symrna at 7:00am. Head out by 7:10AM Sharp. Meet Northern People at PEOPLES PLAZA approx 7:35AM, and get on I95 somewhere. We should get there right as the gates open.
Map from Symrna:
MAP TO CECIL COUNTY DRAGS

NORTHERN FOLKS:
We will meet at the parking lot beside Red Robin in Peoples Plaza. Aim to be there by 7:15, so we can be ready to head out as soon as the southern caravan meets us. We'll probably head up Pleasant Valley Rd to hit I95.

Times for Saturday are:
SATURDAY TEST & TUNE
Gates Open 8:00 AM
Racing Begins 9:00 AM
Racing Ends 4:00 PM

Here is a DYNO day link u may find interesting:
