224/228 is a proven cam. Plus plenty streetable.

I'd say check out an F11 cam or something in that range from futral..

you should up your stall though! you'll definately end up upgrading that 3000 stall to a 3600+ if you get really into it and get a cam that makes power at higher RPMS!

But i guess there are different routes.. maybe you want low end?

Good luck!

i run a TR220,II4LSA with a 3000 stall, but i run 3.73 gears as well.very streetable combo that my friends can drive if i'm too drunk to get behind the wheel, lol.with stock gears(3.23)i wouldn't go any bigger than around a 224-228* duration.

Get headers first. Then your standard TR224 or something similer in size.

You could check out the CheaTR as well, I suppose.

Any 224 or smaller cam, but to maximise that I would get the shift extention range of your verter and match a cam wich power range fits that description.

yeah,i missed the part about the stock manifolds.if he's going to keep the manifolds,at least get a free flowing 3" catback, along with the CheaterTR or something similar.i bet that would be a fun combo to drive around.

the reason for the manifolds is that I cant use headers ...... Because its in my 02 xtreme blazer.
