HELP...What TO DO???
Hey everybody... Want to get some views on my situation.
I have a Silver 1998 Z28 M6 Hardtop, that I bought new in Jan 1998. It now has 150k, mostly highway miles. Have not had any problems out of the engine, but have ate through three clutches. The car now, and has been for the past two years a third car in the family. The motor now is using a little oil and has valve issues. The mods I currently have are Kooks Longtubes, Off road Y pipe, 3 inch Flowmaster, Eibach, SLP LID, Mild Tune, 17" Konig Monsoons, and new clutch flywheel, master, and Zo6 slave. Other than that the car is as it came. I want to rebulid the motor, but do not know what the cost could be. I also do not know if I want to go all motor, FI route, or a NOS kit. I have about 5k to spend and I am looking for approx 425 to the rear wheels. Should I just do a basic rebuild and add a nice heads and cam, or get a forged bottom end? Give some good honest feedback here, cause I am new to this rebuilding a modern muscle car. Thanks in advance.
