Will this Cam/Heads Pack work...
Ok....car is a '98 Trans Am, A4 with lid, gutted cats, magnaflow catback, 3000 stall, and soon to be LS6 intake and Moser 12 bolt...........
I've already decided on the AFR Mongoose 205cc heads, but the cam is a little different...
I've been lookin at FMS cams alot.....at first I was happy with the F2, which is 224"/224" .588"/.588" 114LSA.
Then everyone said I needed to go bigger, like maybe an F13...
This car is still a daily driver but I run at the track often and wanted some good numbers there too........I'm leanin towards the F11 or F12 now
specs on those two are F11- 228"/230" .576"/.595" 114LSA
and the F12- 230"/230" .595"/.595" 114LSA
I dont really have the money to start building the car a whole lot or replacing stuff, so will any of this work good together....thanks in advance...

The 205's your going to run peak between .550 and .600 lift (290cfm on my bench), 230 degrees duration at .050 will have a good lope at idle but you will be able to drive it on the street no problems.
I would go with the F12 it will match your heads better and make more peak HP.
The lobe seperation on these cams helps the idle and makes good power up top.
I personlly sell Comp Cams, using my own custom grinds but the combonation you have here will work well.
Good Luck!

I use the F-15 as a daily driver with few complaints about driveabiliy. I'd imagine that a set of heads would adjust the torque curve and make the car even more driveable.
Also, that cam makes peak torque at 4800 rpm, so you're leaving alot on the table with a 3000 stall.

You could look to go bigger, but you have to consider your stall size. 3000 is pretty conservative for an all out cam. The F-13 would be good with those heads and that stall IMO. If you want to go bigger with the cam, I would suggest going with a bigger stall if racing is your main priority.

Ah, sorry, I missed that you'd be daily driving it. In that case, the F13/AFR 205 is a good way to go. The F-13 is known for its good street manners and will work well with the 3000 stall.

That setup is one of the choices I am considering. But I will say after having a stalled auto before, and running it with and without a cam, I would definatly want a bigger stall if I were you.
I had a TCI SSF3500, and ran the TSP225 cam. I recommend getting a bigger stall than 3k for the F-13.
