What is the difference between the 243 casting and the 053 casting ?? thanks

i've never heard of a 053 casting.

What's the difference between the 241 and the 243? Are they both from 01-02?

241 was the laster investment case LS1 head. 243 was the LS6 head originally, but now is also the LS2 head without the lightweight valves.

Do you mean the 853??? Never heard of the 053 casting before.

241.....01-04 LS1
243.....01-04 LS6
853.....99-01/01-04 LS1.

853 is just the early ls1 head right? that makes more sense now

I got the 053 # off of patriot performance web site. I guess it must not be a true LS6 head then.

They are 6.0L truck heads that had LS6 style ports. That is why there are LS6 "Style", I believe

i just swapped my crappy 98' heads for some stock 243's. should be nice jump hopefully haven't got a chance to tune it yet. (i know , why not port them. it's not in the budget. plus i just hated knowing that all of the later model LS1's had a leg up on me)
