Default Valve size on LS1 heads

What size valves would be recommended for LS1 heads. I have a TR 224/224 114LSA and .563 of lift.

I'm thinking 2.020 and 1.570.

Opinions and suggestions are welcome! Please explain your reason for picking the size you suggest though.

Thanks!

Mine are 2.02I and 1.57E. This size will suit the TR224 and bigger fine.

Unless you are having the heads ported and seat throats ratioed and matched to your valves dont worry about it. You will not see much from just upgrading the valve size. If you are having the heads ported, let the guy worry about the valve specs. Valve sizing has very little to do with a cam profile. It has to do with bowl shape, valve job, and valve backcut.

I guess I should have been more specific. I'm going to be porting them myself and am wondering what size valves I should get and how to tell. I guess the size of the valve has to do with how much I port?

What do you mean by having the seat throats ratioed?

just out of curiousity, why isnt the 2.02/1.60 combo used more on the LS heads?

Seems everyone and their grandmother uses 1.57 exhaust valves, Ive done a bit of searching around and havent really found any solid reasoning for this.
