Anybody have a reluctor ring failure?
As some people know ive been chasing a tuning problem for two weeks now I know now i have a ignition problem and it started at the track. My question has anyone ever have a reluctor ring come lose or slip to make your timing wacked out.I have no ses lights but i don't think you will if its a reluctor ring.Just curious was kind of problems you had and if there is anyway to check it before the motor comes out.

Hard to start and when its running and you rev its real slugish. And it pops out the exhaust if you try stabbing the throttle. At idle if it stays idling its like it has a small cam in it.Not healthy sounding like before.Ive changed and check more than i feel like typing this is not a normal problem thats why i think its a reluctor ring.It would just suck if i take it apart and thats not the problem.

if its 4 years old since forged...youve been spinning it higher...I will put $100 the your thrust bearing is GONE and your crank is walking away from your CPS under load.
Is your stock tach still working?

Have timed it with an osilliscope B-4 & checked to see if CKP/ CMP & TDC where out of relation. Difficult though.
Usually get a sync code though with that kind of problem,P 1336 I think?
Checked the wiring to & resistance of the CKP sensor?

Sorry...
CKP crank postion
CMP cam postion
You can put these signals on a osilliscope. Then put a comression gauge in #1 & a pressure tranducer & hook them all to a multi-channel osilliscope. Then check the timing of each in relation to one another. The pain is you may have to check a good known engine to know the sequence & relation to each other on an unknown set up.

Is the engine coming out anyway?
