408ci ran for the 1st time today!
I couldn't be happier. The motor fired up and actually ran halfway decent considering all the changes that have been made. It took about 5 minutes for it to find "time" and sound relatively normal. It still won't idle smoothly on it's own - just surges up and down, BUT at 1500 rpm or so it'll run all day. She'll be going to Speed Inc next week if they have a spot open for some tuning... and on Turkey Day weather permitting I'll be out terrorizing the streets!
Here's the links to a couple videos with sound...
http://www.408ls1ta.com/vids/408_Idle1.wmv - very first time running
http://www.408ls1ta.com/vids/408_Idle2.wmv - after 5-10 minutes
I had to tell someone who'd understand! Let me know what you guys think. One thing is for sure, the Loudmouth is gonna go... tooooo loud.

The short block was built by Texas Speed. Eagle crank, Scat rods, and Mahle -12cc dished pistons. The .060" head gasket I used along with the AFR 205 heads put the compression ratio around the 10.2:1 area. Cam specs are 244/248 .612/.615 115lsa. I can't wait to get this thing tuned. Hopefully this week!! I'll be posting dyno charts for sure.
