Default How good are the GM LS6 CNC Ported Cylinder Heads??

Fred Beans sells them for only $989. Part # 88958622. What type of gains do they provide over the stock LS6 heads and how do they compare to your typical "stage 2" type heads??

And most importantly, are they indistinguishable from the stock heads when looking into the engine bay? Reason I ask is I don't want my warranty voided which is the main reason I am looking to these heads.

That is per head price. They are in par with other stage 2 LS6's

Oh yeah, I just looked and you're right. I thought that was a little cheap. Why the heck are they quoting per head? Thats like advertising sneakers @ a per sneaker price. Who buys just one. Well, it'd be cheaper for me just to get my existing heads ported than

Right outta the box, stock LS1/LS6 heads are among the best flowing factory heads EVER made. When ported by someone who knows what they're doing, along with a spring upgrade, you'll have a set of heads that will be as good as a lot of aftermarket heads.

I have looked at these heads as well, still not sure what you give up on the low RPM end with the larger intake port. I have read it is between 240 and 250cc's but haven't confirmed. I e-mailed Ed Potter about them, but never heard back.

For the race teams that use them is why they sell they per head

For the money Id go with AFR's. The ls6 heads come with ls6 springs that need to be upgraded if you run a cam with some lift. They seem overpriced to me.
