With $2000 you could do a cam and gears. Thats if you don't mind doin the cam install yourself. I'm about to do mine.

If you have the cash go for a rear end those 10 bolt are shitty , however you will brake it sooner or later . later when you brake your 10bolt you well wished that you`ve done the rear-end.

granted the 10 bolts are shitty but they dont take nearly the amount of punisment as the m6.....but id def. go with a cam.....its a cheap route to go for decent amount of power......but id suggest to beef up the internals(valves and retainers)....dont wont to get the setup and one of ur seals break loose....

Looking at your 60' I think you are leaving a little bit at the table. I would look into a set of ET Streets. But (and this is from experience) I would highly reccomend a 12 bolt at the same time. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't have wasted the $$ getting gears installed in a 10 bolt. I know......it's an auto but sooner or later it will break. I did with an A4.

Think about it....if you spin now....a cam won't make it any better. Then you get sticky tires to fix that. Now you are throwing more power down and dead hooking.......It sucks to break down at the strip.

$1,700+- for used 12 bolt
$350+- for ET Streets

My $.02

I say don't fix it unless its broken...and if you plan on eventually breaking it, don't waste money on it. Learn from my mistake, I ended up paying almost 1500 for a replacement 10 bolt when it was supposed to only be like 400....but then something went wrong, had to buy new ****, then ended up at the dealers paying 800 dollars for installation. If I could go back, I wouldn't have fucked with the stupid rear-end, I would've just let it break on its own, and bought a..............

9"

By the way, if you're getting a new rear-end, get a 9"....basically bullet proof and the loss in power isn't that great..maybe 5-10 hp diff, which won't make much a difference at the track when you can launch even harder, and only cost a little more. I've seen too many people who have 350-400 hp breaking 12bolts!! I would never opt for a 12bolt, 9" all the way for the added safety, and insurance that I won't have to pay for more rear work.

My dollars worth,
Adrian

I forgot to mention....for now, since it hasn't broken, and you plan on breaking it in the future....go for more power. Just play a little easier until you know you'll be able to afford a new 9".

For you, I'd say send lt1Dave a message....with what he can do for you, you're looking at 450-475hp to the WHEELS for

1200 patriot stage 2's
420 cam

Of course, you can't forget that you'll have to get a tune, injectors to support your new found 450-475 hp, and probably a clutch and rear in the future. so you're really looking at about

1200, patriots stage 2 (new, don't buy used because you'll need to send them to get "refreshed" to patriot and they charge 250+shipping, and most of them go for 800+/- used, so its not worth it.)
420, for lt1dave cam
280, 42lb SVO's
150 mail-order tune
Wait till these break.....
500+/-, clutch
1700+/-, 9" with options (used)

Waiting until the rear/clutch break, you're looking at about 2050, and then remember to save for the supporting driveline components, as they will break with any of the mods you put on. This will be a great starting point, and will allow you to add the NX ect.. later on for even MORE power.

And now that I'm sitting here on LS1tech.com instead of studying for the 5 finals i have next week, i need to go hahaha.

Best of luck to you, if you have any q's send me a pm,
Adrian

go big cam and 3.73 gears if it is a daily driver, or 4.10s if you want faster track times.
