Default Ls1 engine question..

I have found a higher milage Z28 Ls1. I want to mod it. What would i need to do to make the engine better [and not a higher milage break one part at a time motor]

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

sorry i got lost in my own question.. I was worried about modding a high milage car.. Is there anything I can do so that stuff does not start going [since the motor is getting up in the xxx,xxx range.

First you want to do compression/Leakdown test...might need piston rings.
just like any other motor...new bearings will make it like new...the pistons/rods/crank arent going to wear out.
I would change valvesprings/rockers/pushods/lifters while its apart..as well as the oil pump.
All the little stuff needs to be watched..injectors, fuel pump etc.

LS1s are just like any other motor.

It's ok happens to us all. Me more so then most

As stated give it a leakdown test. Inspect test things like pumps injectors plugs wires all that.

Myself with a higher mileage LS1 car i'd more worry about rear then the motor.
