So i've had my cut out open for awhile and its been pretty loud, i capped it today for the first time in a few months knowing i'd hear the engine more than the exhaust note, i did the routine oil level check and i either forgot how loud my valve train clatter is, or it has gotten louder. Basically i just want to ask if your valve train clatter sounds like sewing machine at a decent volume (not like painfully loud) i can barely hear it with the hood closed but with it open it is very noticeable, any help would be appreciated. Also i think i might have a bent pushrod (its hit the limiter 6600 a few times so i'll be checking that tomorrow, im not sure if that will affect the valve train clatter outside of the ticking from the bent pushrod but thought you might want to know that too) Thanks for the help again.
EDIT: Forgot to mention full specs are 224/224 .563/.563 112LSA

If you suspect bent pushrods, check that first.
You still have stockers??
I've reduced my clatter noise by using 7.425 push rods instead of 7.40.
It is a dramatic improvement.

My TR224 sounds like a sewing machine as well. Fairly loud, but not obnoxious. Are you using stock pushrods? I'm using TR hardened ones and have revved the car to 6500-6700 when crossing the 1/4 in 3rd gear on several track passes with no probs. (At least no probs that I know of! ).
Anyhow, if you have hardened pushrods....I'd suspect you're fine. I've checked mine a couple times after performing the above track passes and all were straight. The stock ones aren't so forgiving though....they need to go if you still have them.
Hope my $0.02 helps out.

No noticeable sewing machine sound here. I'd say the valvetrain noise is on par with my old LS6 cam. I did notice less noise after adding 1.7 YT rollers over the stockers.

Mine sounds like a sewing machine also, only it's really not that noticable with the hood open. I really only notice it when I'm standing by the front fender (either side), I guess the longtubes allow more sound to be transmitted through them to be noticable there.
