Default Stock pistons...

How much power will stock 2000 pistons handle? Say on an h/c setup how much power will they take with some nitrous on top of the h/c?

People have put down 600+rwhp with the stock cast pistons. You just have to make sure and get enough fuel so they won't detonate. Being cast, they'll be less forgiving then forged pistons.

Yes, that is true. You might want to stick with like a 75-150. Anything over that and I would say that the pistons should be forged if you are going to spray that motor more than 10% of the time.

What kind of shot are you doing? Wet, Dry, or Direct?

Just really kicking around ideas at this point. It'd either be a dry or wet kit, no DP. I've seen the pictures of damaged pistons around this board and just didn't know what the stockers could take. This is a street and I was just thinking of a little boost for those "special occasions" but nothing I want to risk the motor over.

Seen 600's a couple times before they blew.

Really on a H/C/I LS1 a 150 shot is the generally accepted norm...though ive heard doing 2 stages is a little easier on the pistons?

This would be something for the N20 forum but I wonder if a 1st stage of 100 and a 2nd stage of 100 would be easier on the engine than a single 200.
