I need help, I have an 01 SS w/ intake, flowmaster, SLP MAF. I also have, but haven't put on yet, the FAST TB & Manifold (both 90mm), and 3.73 gears. Jus wondering what else i can get to have my car put out some nice numbers. I wanna be able to tear up an 04 Z06. I was thinking of maybe getting the Patriot LS6 Stage III heads from WS6Store.com. Will I need to upgrade the cam, rockers, or pushrods for this. I'm looking for 400+ rwhp...

OK.

For starters, take off that Flowmaster catback. It's one of the most restrictive catbacks available. I've seen anywhere from 10rwhp lost on mild setups to 25rwhp lost on max effort setups.

Is your car an M6 or A4?

Before you go and buy Patriot "LS6 (LQ9 truckheads)" Stage anything, check out Patriot's website, available here on the sponsorboard, and see the options they have.
There are also quite a few budget head options available (TEA, ForceFed, PRC, along with Patriot) from sponsors like Texas Speed, Thunder Racing, SpeedInc, etc.
Check out the Sponsor forum for sales, but most of all, call a sponsor and tell them what you want out of your head/cam setup before committing to buying anything.
True 243 GM LS6 Head castings are now being sold for peanuts with CNC porting and valvework from Patriot and Livernois.
Once you decide on a head (5.3L, 5.7L), you then decide on what stage work you want on it. Then you pick your cam according to how those heads flow.

Good luck!

PS. Stock rockers are good. You need hardened pushrods and upgraded valvesprings.

I didn't even get into aftermarket heads like AFR, ETP, Dart, etc. There's a sh*tload of stuff out there. Read a little or talk with a shop before you buy

I would check out some of the offerings from TEA (Total Engine Airflow), one of our sponsors. You could get one of their head packages for that price point, and they have shown proven results. I'm not sure how well the head you listed performs.

Head is for big bore applications.
Check this thread out, which explains why.

Before spending your money on a set of heads good for a larger displacement engine, have a look around this site's sponsors webpages.

O I C now. I kinda have to go with the Patriot heads cuz they're a little more in my price range. so if i go with the stage 2 heads, what would be the best cam to get? I wanna get the head package and cam so i can go ahead and put on the Manifold and TB on too all at the same time. i alsdo have the gears to put on.
