Degreeing Cam Help
I have a 6.0L block, Stage II LS6 CNC Heads milled .012, TR 230/236 cam which specs at 231.5/237.5 .594 .604. I want to degree cam, then check for Piston to Valve clearance, but was told to use Solid lifters instead of Hydraulic. Where can I get 2 Solid lifters? Will I have to flycut pistons?

Hydraulic lifters may compress when you are rotating the engine, so you may not see the real numbers for checking cam timing. Find a solid lifter, get the right pushrod or an adjustable lifter. Check it out. Check the piston to valve clearance with this setup.

I made 2 from some old lifters. Take some apart and remove the little flat discs. Remove the springs and stack the discs (don't remember how many) under the cup until it's tight under the retainer clip. Works great and you will need the solids for checking rocker arm geometry also.

so, who sells them??
