Default rocker ratio

im getting a 2000 T/A A4 for a daily driver and dont plan on putting a cam in this one just all the bolt ons cuz im looking for good gas millage but was wanting to know from you guys if higher ratio rockers would be worth the $ & work and how would they affect mileage and performance.

I would stick with the 1.7's just for the money reason alone. They might give you some 5-10 more hp. I really would look into an underdrive system or something to that effect.

here's my graphs showing the gains using the vinci/crane 1.8 accelerated lift rocker kit and dual springs in the wife's car with the stock cam. and on stock tune.

dyno 9 before
dyno 11 500 miles later
dyno 14 10 months later

Not sure about the f-body, but on a Vette the underdrive pulley is a major undertaking since the steering rack must come out. For the money and time, I would do the rockers. Just my opinion.
