Default LS1 -> 408 ??

Considering picking up a ZL-402. From what i understand LQ9 heads would work better than my 241s. What is the highest CR I can run on pump gas? 11:1? Can this be achieved using LQ9's? Also, as far as items matching up...I know the alternator will need a special bracket (where can i find this) and are there any other strange things like that ...that i should know about? Can i use my LS6 intake, tb, covers, plates, oil pump, etc?

Your thread says 408, were you wanting to know about the 408 or the 402?
Everything off the LS1 will bolt up to a 408, sensors, intake, covers, oil pump, everything. The only two things I found were, On the block I was missing one bolt hole for the bellhousing. (Close to the top) I just left it out, since it had another 2-3in away from it. & The stock alternator bracket will work, only one of the bolt holes is missing (dead center of the bracket) I to, just left that out. It has a bolt on the top right and a bolt on the bottom left holding it on. I havent had the 1st problem. You could drill & tap the hole but I already had the motor in the car before I found these two things. You should be able to run higher than 11:1 on pump gas. You raise it on up, depending on your future plans. Ive seen the CR on here range from low 9's up to mid 12's. If im not mistaken all were on pump gas.

Nope. Same block, only diff is the bore size. Like Z said, only diff's are the hole that needs to be tapped for the alternator (there is only one originally there) and the fact taht it is ~80-100 lbs heavier than an aluminum block. Feel free to come check mine out or just come shoot the **** sometime. My 408 has been in for about 400 miles now. We're not too far from each other.

Yea, dyno'ed it after about 100 miles. With stock LQ9 heads, LS6 intake, and P/P TB we pulled 425/445 SAE corrected. I posted in the dyno results section... it should still be a new enough thread to be found easily. I'm on break from school until the 17th so I'm pretty much available until then. Let me know if you wanna come check it out or just shoot the ****.
