Default Sooo Close, New 346ci, ET 225s, FAST 90/90

Its been about 3 months since the start of this build, simply waiting for vendors and part availability has set delays. Tonight we finally got the motor buttoned up and were this close => <= to getting it running. When we were doing the final checks we found that the clearance under the valve covers was simply not enough. Rotated the motor over by hand and you could tell that the rockers were hitting the baffles. Tomorrow we're going to throw on a set of spacers and call it a day. You could remove the baffles but spacers work much better in a effort to control oil consumption. Stay tuned.....

Phil, I told you so, hehehehe. I took the baffles out, and I swear if I pull the covers, there will still be 16 little crescent shaped marks on there. But, until I get some new covers, it'll wait, just like I am waiting on the 90/90 setup.
So, did you stick with the 8.100" @ .010" pre-load? What Lifters are you running again? I hear Morel recommends .025-.035".
What size cam are you running in this one? I mean if Al is excited to see some results out of it, it has to be good
Anyway, good luck and post up some pics and impressions once running.

Pshhh...his cylinder heads are quite a few notches better than mine. He should be making some serious power.

I saw Phil's setup yesterday. The ET heads are beautiful. His car should make serious HP. Hell, Phil got 460-470RWHP out of mine with smaller heads and a 230-236 112 XE-R cam after he ported the FAST LSX and LS2 TB.

Post that video of Sam's car when you get it tunning.

Congrats!!!!

I gotta hear this thing run.

It's getting rough in So. MD., with all these bullies coming out of Port Tobacco. Give me a call Phil, when you get her cranked up.

I thought they remedied the spacer issue on the latest heads (didn't you just get these a week ago?)

I got a .500" spacer for my motor but it turns out I am going to need a 1" to clear. The 346/225 is for Sams 00 Vette, my 346/240 solid is going in this week.

I have the same rockers... and I had to pull the baffels, clearance the valve covers and use .5" spacers. Good luck with your set up man... I want to see the results

I see know the reason getting ETP heads is backlogged is because Phil is using them all up on his customers.

**Update**
We're going to finish buttoning up the 225 today and hopefully fire it tomorrow. I ordered a set of 1" valve cover spacers to get the 240 motor up and running, those should be here wednesday.
Phil.
