Default Which head gasket?

12589226 GM Multi-Layer Steel LS1/LS6 Cylinder Head Gasket

Or

12558809 GM LS1 Cylinder Head gasket, graphite

had to pull my heads to change a lifter, which head gasket should i get to go back on?

What year is your car?? A good rule of thumb is to stay with the same year head gaskets as your heads are (if they are different) Me personally I went back with the stock graphite ones. Go with what you know I guess....

I did the multi layered ones and could not be happier! I think it will just make it easier next time I pull the heads off to scrape the block and make sure I got all the little scrap piece cleaned up.

I would say just go back with stock ones....Its all a matter of opinion, which ones you prefer....

I definatly agree with you on that one. Scraping the block is a PITA!!!! but a green scratch pad makes it easy, but still a pain.

Stockers can be either. I think most "original stockers" are graphite. As I found out.

i think mine were graphite, since they had all the little silver flakes going everywhere when i was removing them.

yeah, those graphite ones are a pain, especially after you scrape the block, then you have to use a shop vac to clean out the water jackets and bolt holes etc...what a pain, but the price you gotta pay for HP
