Cam Motion 226/228 Info ; Road Race/Street Strip
I recently put in a cam request at Cam Motion.
I specified TEA Stage 1 5.7's @ 62cc, 220cc runner with stock valves / LT's / 3500lb weight / 3.73's / M6. The heads have excellent low/mid lift flow characteristics, peak 296 @ .550, then taper off.
I asked for a good Road Race cam that could also be very streetable, with the occasional trip to the drag strip, 2800 begin range, peak @ 6250 and shift @ 6500rpms.
A couple days later they responded w/:
226/228 .574/.576 112lsa 108 icl
It was interesting to see it check in at 226 intake duration.
The Futral (Cam Motion grind) F6 226/230 .575/.595 112 had caught my eye before hearing from them, and I had spoken with Futral as for it being a good grind for road racing given it's less aggressive lobes compared to the other grinds they sell.
The GMPP ASA, also checks in at 226 intake duration.
Note: I don't know if posting this info after a cam request is unethical, but I figure nothing but good advertisement can come of it, as this cam is available via Futral, a sponsor. Also, perhaps this info will help others looking at similar setups.
