I've always read that a 114 should.

It's very possible but the tune will more than likely need to be tweaked for it to be certain. I remember in a conversation a while back that a guy was saying how he got his TR224 112LSA to pass smog. He had to really lean the car out, bump the idle speed to 950rpms and make some other changes.

You can set the fans to let the engine run hotter too.

If you have a C5 in maryland they will issue a waiver. Apparently there was an accident with a lowered vehicle and lawsuit followed. All lowered cars recieve a waiver.

Got any more info or a source for that?

Also, in MD for a 2001 C5, there is no tailpipe test - as long as you aren't throwing codes, you can use whatever cam you want. They just plug in their OBD-II scanner and see what the PCM thinks.

Don't have any idea on Virginia or DC - sorry But in MD any car with OBD-II is just a code test - no sniffer. They have the option of doing a visual check, but I've never had one done.

I agree with the others. However there are two issues of which you need to be aware.

1. Some inspection stations have a lane with no rollers. If you go to one of these stations you will not receive a waiver and you will have to take the test.

2. If you are using the LG headers I believe you only use one pair of your O2 sensors. If the other set is disabled via LS1 edit etc. I think you will fail the test.

Just make sure you go to a test facility that has rollers in all of the lanes. You will receive a waiver and life will be good.

Thanks... I have the rear o2 codes still enabled, but set to report no error...

To make things clear, the inspection station in Waldorf will waive you around to park in the front, you take your reg. card in and they issue a 2 year waiver.

Sounds like emissions testing would be a PIA! I'm glad we can't afford such things in WV

The other thing to do with the tune for the sniffer is to pull a bunch of timing out. You really don't want to lean the motor out too much as that will cause more hydrocarbons to be emitted from the hotter (leaner) combustion chamber which is what alot of timing will do.

Northern VA has moved to OBD-II as well. They do have the visual inspection though. However, I can't remember in any of my inspections them looking under the car for cats. Of course this was on the stock engine with barely any mods, so in short... I'm just praying for a miracle when I pull up with the 408 LT/ORY/LM now smelling like I drove through a gasoline car wash I played it smart and got emissions right before the 408 swap though so I have another year to come up with some ideas

Quick Reply: Any chance a 224/224 XE-R 113lsa will pass smog in MD
