It's very possible but the tune will more than likely need to be tweaked for it to be certain. I remember in a conversation a while back that a guy was saying how he got his TR224 112LSA to pass smog. He had to really lean the car out, bump the idle speed to 950rpms and make some other changes.

Also, in MD for a 2001 C5, there is no tailpipe test - as long as you aren't throwing codes, you can use whatever cam you want. They just plug in their OBD-II scanner and see what the PCM thinks.

Don't have any idea on Virginia or DC - sorry But in MD any car with OBD-II is just a code test - no sniffer. They have the option of doing a visual check, but I've never had one done.

I agree with the others. However there are two issues of which you need to be aware.
1. Some inspection stations have a lane with no rollers. If you go to one of these stations you will not receive a waiver and you will have to take the test.
2. If you are using the LG headers I believe you only use one pair of your O2 sensors. If the other set is disabled via LS1 edit etc. I think you will fail the test.
Just make sure you go to a test facility that has rollers in all of the lanes. You will receive a waiver and life will be good.

The other thing to do with the tune for the sniffer is to pull a bunch of timing out. You really don't want to lean the motor out too much as that will cause more hydrocarbons to be emitted from the hotter (leaner) combustion chamber which is what alot of timing will do.
