Default Dart 205 (As Cast)Flow #'s

I just received the flow #'s for my Dart 205's from my Machine shop. They were flowed at 28" and as cast from Dart. The intake was flowed with a clay radius and the exhaust with a pipe. I have included the complete intake flow #'s but only have the .500 and .600 exhaust #'s at this time.

Intake #'s

.100/ 65.7
.200/ 132.9
.300/ 194.7
.400/ 247.7
.500/ 281.1
.600/ 295.4

Exhaust #'s

.500/ 208
.600/ 222.7

My head porter stated he thought the heads were very nice as cast but was confident he could pick the low and high lift #'s up a bit with a slight clean up of the ports and blending the bowls(valve Job) in better. This work is being completed at the moment and I will post the results of his work.

On a side note I had a set of PRC's 2.5 heads flowed on the same bench not too long ago and the Darts flow #'s were very close to these despite having a 22.5 cc smaller intake port volume.

PRC's 2.5's

Intake #'s Exhaust #'s

.100/ 68 .100/ 52
.200/ 137 .200/ 137
.300/ 199 .300/ 199
.400/ 247 .400/ 179
.500/ 281 .500/ 207
.550/ 293 .600/ 220
.600/ 281

Btw the shop stated their flow bench is a little stingy on #'s.

Solid flow numbers on the as-cast Darts. Glad to see the PRC 2.5s are flowing more than the earlier versions. Both should make good power. Thanks for the report. BTW, what bore fixture were they flowed on? 3.900? 4.00?

I really think these Dart castings will be the way to go. I'm having PRC do me a set of stage 3 225's for my 408. These things look great in person, I can't belive what a great deal they are as compared to the more expensive aftermarket castings. I'm going to have my stage 3's flowed locally against a set of AFR 225's I have and a set of ETP 240's that are going on a customer's C5R based 427.

3.900 inch bore. Hopefully he can find a little more out of the Darts as they are a little off the 205 AFR #'s but they should be great on my forged 346 setup!

I would wait for the CNC versions, unless the racing class requires as cast heads.

The Dart 205's come with 2.02/ 1.60 valves I believe. I will post again when they are flowed after clean up but for the price they are hard to beat in my opinion. Small ports/High velocity = great throttle response and drivability. $1400 + $200-300 for cleanup is a far cry from the $2200+ from other aftermarket heads. Im hoping they perform comparable to the AFR's. Only time will tell though as these heads still have not made it on any dyno's or motors yet to be proven.

There was one recent dyno on CF with a relatively small cam. This was with cleaned up 225's, they weren't out of the box which is one of things I think a lot of people are waiting for. Car picked up almost 50 HP.

As soon as ET decides to send Tony's heads, we'll have a "flow off" competition

They are for 2bseens truck. He ordered them back at the first of November. I don't know how ET quoted on delivery, but I was under the impression that he wanted them installed around Christmas.. and that never happened due to a lack of heads.

High flow numbers for a given engine combo is important. But keeping the air/fuel mixture from seperating during flow path and getting complete burn during combustion is just as or even more important.

Slikvert,

I have not had a chance to speak with my head porter in the last two weeks but will in the next couple of days when I drop some more parts off for my motor. As soon as I get the new #'s I will post them. Sorry for keeping ya hanging! I just purchased a Fast 90/90 setup that I need him to port match to the heads. I hope this thing puts down some good #'s
