Default Removing oil pan...help.

2. Where is the best place to jack the motor up at? I heard bellhousing? crank snout? (safe)?

YOu do realize the motor is going to have to come way up to clear the pick up tube right? The pick up tube sits real close to the bottom of the pan. The bellhousing & front pulley should be fine. If you had access to a cherry picker that would help I guess. You could then just pick up on it from the top. What exaclty are you trying to do? Id rather pull the motor than fight with trying to get it out with the motor still in.

DON'T Use the crank snout or Bellhousing!

Use stands at the jacking points.

I too would just yank the motor from the top. It takes me about 1.5 hours to do this.

Yeah I got two jack stands on. Now I just need to raise the motor up so that I can take the pan out...

I was the idiot who left some **** in the oil pan...so now I have to drop it and take it all out.

Prolly the trans. I would think the bell housing would hit the firewall before the motor got high enough to remove the pan. Did you leave something you can just drop the pan & raise the motor enough to get a magnet to get it out?

I got both motor mounts bolts out completely and I got it jacked up pretty good right now. Its not high enough though to take the pan out...what am I missing? I need maybe another inch or so.

Everyone stubles at one point or another...I just learned what the oil pressure sending unit is after breaking it for the first time after doing who knows how many intake swaps...

Looks at it this way, after all this is done, you'll have more knowledge of the car and how it's all set up.

Now get to work and get the beast runnin!

Look at the K Member and there are 3 18mm bolts per side. Watch the steering rack and lines, Shocks and brake lines for stress as you loosen it up.

Found two 18mm's there is one 22mm or so, is that the third?

Is it in that hole in the k member?

Should I support it in anyway as I loosen them? or just let it drop on its own?
