Default TR224, noob questions, sorry

Alright guys, bare with me haha. I'm curious, I heard the TR224 is a good, mild cam that will possibly pass CA smog laws. So, I've got a few cam questions.
Will a cam mess up a daily driver/create terrible gas mileage???
Will I need to buy heads and other components with a cam? (I take it a lot of tuning/labor is required)
How much will it cost to install and tune?
What size lift should I do with something like a TR224?
-Thanks guys and sorry for all the questions.

first off - you want to make sure you have at least an LS6 intake manifold and full exhaust including shorty headers (i'm pretty sure they're legal in cali) - you don't want to choke your motor - cammed cars need to breathe to perform optimally

if you get that cam ground on a 114LSA you will pass cali smog with a good tune
no you don't need to buy heads - only a valvespring kit and pushrods are "mandatory" although it is good practice to replace the oil pump with a ported one and replace the timing chain - especially if the motor has decent mileage on it
expect install and a tune to run around $1100 total

btw are you and M6 or A4? you may want to consider a larger stall if you have an A4 and haven't already gotten a bigger one DISCLAIMER: I know nothing about stalls and such so somebody chime in if i'm wrong
