Default No oil pressure?

After rebuilding the motor, putting everything back in, etc... I have 0 oil pressure. I'm fairly sure the O ring on the pickup tube is ok, I get oil to the filter, the oil pressure sending unit is plugged in. Is it a bad sending unit? Any other ideas? I let the car run for 15-20 seconds, and it never came up.

IIRC there are two plugs, one in the rear of the block and one in the front, that if not inserted correctly (or at all) you will not build oil pressure... although you are getting oil to the filter... so i would remove the sending unit temporarily and install a real (mechaincal) gauge into the port. this way you eliminate the sending unit and all the electronics between it and the gauge cluster.

Hmmm, no good. I don't remember removing them, or ever even seeing them. Is there anyway to test this at all? Would I still get oil to the filter?

I had the same thing happen to me on a 348 last week. The NEW oil pan gasket was bad where the oil goes from the filter into the block. The pump was filling the filter up and then it was going right back into the pan instead of up into the block. It took 3 or 4 days to figure out. Changed a couple of oil pumps and loads of other **** before I found it.

Gomer, that's a strange strange problem. I doubt this is mine. Would the oil filter still fill without the oil control valve?
