Default Which ETP heads

I'm looking for suggestions on which etperformance heads to get for my setup. It is a 408 iron with a twin turbo setup and a 90/90 setup. Looked at the 265's with 72cc chamber and 11 degree valve angle. Wanted some opinions.

I`ve got a set of ET 245`s going on my 408 with a 200 shot. Heads should be here this week. G-Force should have her done soon!

Exactly.... heads and especially expensive heads start to lose their HP/$ advantage once you start adding boost. This really goes for the entire top end.....

Just get some nice ported LQ9s unless you think you're gonna boost to 15+ psi and are looking for a thicker deck....

I don't completely agree. Boost is a measure of restriction in the intake tract. A motor running 1 bar of boost should theoretically make double the power it makes naturally aspirated.

So if a set of ET 265 heads make 40 more rwhp over ported LQ9 heads on motor, then they would make 80 more rwhp at 1 bar of boost.

the better flowing heads and intake the less heat too.... and less amount of octane you have to run... until a certain point ofcourse...

if you have a overflow of cash get the ET heads... if not just get some patriot of TSP cnc'd heads..

Of course it does.... I'm not arguing physics. But say you're running 12psi. You want 80 more HP... do you spend $2500+ on ET heads, or do you crank up the boost 2-3psi? This is where the hp/$ comes in. It's cheaper to turn up the boost, cut a little timing and add the hp you want.

I guess it all depends on your ultimate goals. Max effort motor or more power than you can use on the street anyway.

One thing et has over the lq9 is a thicker deck that is a nice feature for boost cars.Plus your gunna have some money tied up in the lq9 heads and if you ever wanna sell them for any reason your resale on the lq9 will be very low since everybody is starting to lean towards the aftermarket heads. As for the 265 the problem there is you need c5r valvecovers and jessel offset lifters that are big bucks.I was going to put 265 on my car but it gets pricey.

less expensive heads and more boost!
then you will have money for a new shortblock.

Actually I think I am going to go with the 245's and I want the thicker deck. I already have a shortblock being built with custom diamond pistons to mirror the chamber on the ET heads. I plan on running up to 20psi of boost on the twin setup. Would there be any advantage to getting the 255's instead?

good luck sir with your setup...... please keep us updated on how your project is going (sounds like it will be KILLER)..... and maybe even how your ordering experience goes with the et heads.

I'll post all the results but it won't be till I return to the U.S. I am just ordering everything now but it will be done and should have some track times hopefully by September.
