Default Wrong expectations

(opps....posted the original in the wrong section)

I think that my expectation may be alittle skewed.

I am thinking of putting a set of heads on my car. Here are some of the ideas i had. (Also contemplating a fast 90/90)

1) AFR 205's with my current cam (224/228 .581/.588 113)
2) PRC Darts and MS3
3) TEA 5.3 with my current cam
4) TEA 5.3 with a more aggresive cam (custom for the flow of the heads)
5) ET 5.3 with HPE S cam
6) ET 215 11" with my current cam

I was expecting about 450 at the wheels with the cam i have now and about 475 with a more aggressive cam. I am begining to think that my expectations are a bit high.

What do you guys think the power would be on these and which would you choose? If you guys have any other package suggestions, feel free to tell me.

If a sponser has a proven package that can get me close to what i want please chime in.

i had a futral f2 (224/224 .588/.588 112) and tea stage 1.5 5.3 heads on my automatic ss. on a mustang dyno it did 346hp/346tq with no tune and the usual bolt ons....ls6 intake, headers, slp dual/dual exhaust.

ran 12.01 @ 113 on 275/40/17 nittos and a raceweight of 3680. i gained 31hp/41tq from the heads.

are you looking for SAE corrected numbers being that high? - it will never happen with your current cam - uncorrected in perfect conditions might get close to 450

Talk to Tony Mamo at AFR. He can get you to your goal with a 59cc AFR 205 head.

That's not a big enough change to be worth it. If you go bigger, make it count.

FWIW, you can hit 450 rwhp with the mods you have with the addition of AFR 205s with a 59cc chamber and a .040" Cometic gasket and a razor sharp tune. 470s is just a ported FAST 90/90 away. I'm proof of that.

I like the way PRC dart and the MS3 is looking......I am thinking of this set-up, unless I find something else to go better with the MS3 cam

I second the MS3 and Darts. Heads and cam for the price of AFR heads
