Default Any tips for my cam install?

I got down to pull the water pump last night but am getting ready to pull the radiator tonight. What can I do about the AC condenser? Do you have any other tips?
Thanks

The AC condenser stays in. What I did and it worked great was to get a piece of wood (around 6 inchs high) and place the condenser on it so the lines aren't holding the weight.

Make sure you have an LS1/LS6 specific valvespring tool. A normal sears type won't work.

To get the radiator out, make sure all the tabs are disconnected. There's 1 on either side that are hard to see. They're about half way to 3/4 the way down the radiator. You need to disconnect these to get the radiator out.

Take your time and if you're not sure about something, don't do it. Just post a question.

I made it work. The top is not tapered enough to fit well...so I put it in a vice and crushed it to fit perfectly.

yeah and get some 24" 5/16 wooden dowels to put in after you take off the cam retainer plate and turn the cam over a time or 2. you don't want to drop a lifter...bad news.

I have all the clips off and most of the hoses the only thing left on the radiator is the coolant hoses from the transmission and AC, thanks for all the input.

It will make it easier and possibly save you from breaking a part if you remove that hose from the condenser to the dryer. I damn near broke mine. You will have to spend 20 bucks and recharge your a/c in the end though. But i think that it is well worth not buying the 45$ part. But i don't have A/C anymore so that is really not an issue for me. But it was the first cam swap.

Wink

Make sure you line your cam and crank dots at 6 and 12 with your no.1 cylinder at TDC. I didn't and payed a big price for that mess up.
