Default 2nd round of impressions on 346 & 254/260 & ET 240cc

We finally got some time to do more tuning on the car. We've had a tough time trying to get the old gas out completely out and fresh gas in. The old gas was causing the O2s to read all over the board. Once we got the gas straightened out we started to tune. It was a PITA because the car would run for about 10 seconds and cut off. We finally got it to run long enough to see the O2s were fairly rich so we pulled 8-10% fuel out on idle. Once the car would start to idle @ 13.0 we went out and tuned to 4000. This motor runs soo much better than the old motor. The old setup went 10.7 @ 125 and this feels soo much stronger. 1st and 2nd gear are useless, 3rd gear spins the tires just fast enough to make the ride scary @ speed. Throttle response is awesome, stab the gas and the sucker pulls like a freight train anywhere in the RPM band. Whats interesting is how the VE table turned out. The old VE table you could see where the numbers were lower under 3500 where you usually see the power starts to come on in a dyno graph hard. This combo the numbers start 2200 and come on pretty steady to 7500 so hopefully it will have a nice flat power curve. Everyone says that your VE table will be proportional to your dyno graph. The only downside is these fu*kin spacers are leaking. We got valve cover spacers from B & B and S & P and they both leak. Once I can get some time set aside we're going to either fab up some valve covers or purchase them. So far so good!

I've got some videos coming, from the numbers its laying down it appears to be in the 520rwhp area pretty easy but the dynojet will tell.

Katech is currently having a group purchase on their valve covers. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but it might be worth checking out. That engine sounds like a beast!

Their not cheap, but it depends on what options you choose. The prices are listed in the sponsor/ group sale forum.

I thought spacers weren't needed with the ET heads with the higher cover deck.

They are going to have the casting rails raised again. The raised rail takes care of the longer valves. You can run the stock valve covers with a standard rocker but you need to remove the baffles and do some cutting.

LOL, she is comign along fine. We pulled the intake off to redo the nitrous lines so until we get finished maching the custom distribution blocks the project is on hold. The blocks should be done this week and plumbing is about 2-3 hours of work. I can tell you that both cars flat out fly, we have compared 30-80 pulls from before to now and its definitely hauls ***.
