Default Milling heads and safe p/v clearance.

I've got stock ported LS1 heads with 5.7 MLS gaskets and a Futral Motorsports F14-114 cam(.59855 lift) and H.S. 1.7 Roller Rockers.
How much should I mill off the heads and still have no p/v issues? Also what length push rod should I use?

Thanks,
Ted Z

I would ask Futral about milling. They can give some good targets. I think .025" is a safe amount. I know there are few guys on here running more.

For pushrods there is a calculator on here somewhere. You need to know your cam base circle and how much milling you are doing in order to calculate pushrod lenght.

I doubt you can mill any significant amount without flycutting.

You may be surprised. I had a set of 5.3 heads with my F13 and Futral said I could go up to .015" mill safely.
