Default 455?

Does anyone know of a rotating assembly and sleeve combo that'll do a 455 in an LS1 or LS2? Maybe even the LQ9 (that's the iron 6.0L, right?)

Thanks!

I'm doing a 454 right now. You can do it one of 2 ways. You can have Race Engine Development do you a sleeved LS-1 block with 4.200 sleeves and a 4.100" stroke Eagle crank, or you can get the LS2 dry sleeve block and use a 4.155 bore with a 4.185 Lunati crank. Both will net the same cubes, but you have to way the options between both. The larger bore version will provide more HP in the upper rpm's due to the valves being unshrouded much more, but the 4.150" bore version is still plenty big to allow the valves to be unshrouded, but the added stroke will add more TQ. The LS1 block will also be a MID "wet sleeve", which is a more expensive sleeving process, plus you have to run MID specific Cometic head gaskets, and use speacial Evans coolant that is very high dollar. Pistons and rods will be the same price between the 2, so the diffrences lye in the block/crank combo.

Darton MID block-$3500 Eagle 4.100 crank-$800 Total= $4300
Darton LS2 Dry sleeve-$2800 (with speacial sleeves for the long stroke) Lunati 4.185" crank-$2000= $4800 total.

I didn't want to have to mess with the "speacial" coolant or worry about the "slight chance" that one of the MID sleeves might leak, so I went the slightly more expensive route with the LS2 dry sleeve. I also want the longer stroke for the street. Youcould also use a 4.125 Callies or Lunati crank in the wet sleeve block if you needed the stronger crank, but then it would be about $5500 bucks.

It'll be a optimized Hydraulic roller. 11:8:1 compression, around 8:7:1 DCR. With the intake no longer being a restriction, it'll be time to see what these motors can really do! I'll do a write up on fitting the intake, and post results/pics as parts trikle in. I'm hoping to have the motor and intake before the end of the month.
