Default 235/240 & 233/239

Just wondering about these cams. I was sold on getting a MS3 after I sold my 231/237 to a friend. But I've been looking around and some good points about torque were made. I'm thinking I don't need that MS3, but rather a cam with more down low. I'm looking at running a 3.73 or 3.90 rear end with whatever cam, because I'd rather have more gear than running a huge stall. What do you guys think. And what kind of stall do you think would be appropriate for each considering these gears?

who cares about low end. do you take off at idle when you run your car. no so why does it matter. if you want low end get a 224 cam

I'm just saying I don't care about being king of the dyno and don't forsee myself going to the redline all that often for peak power. I'm looking for a nasty street set up, with low and midrange power. I saw that the power band for these two were 1900 and 2000 rpm's. So, I was thinking this would be a lil better than the MS3. Like others have stated, it's not all about horsepower.

Im with ya. I think a cam the size of the MS3, or something similiar is overkill for the average street car, and that guys would see better results on the street and the strip with a more mild cam, more so on stock heads. A good set of heads will really help out.
