Default Checking for Proper Pushrod Length

I'm going to begin pulling the engine on my Y2K Corvette hardtop next weekend. I need a solid roller lifter or a modified hydraulic roller lifter to check for proper pushrod lenght. I can order a new, stock lifter and modify it (make it solid) but I'd rather not destroy a good lifter (and save $40). Does anyone on the forum have an old lifter they would be willing to sell? Thanks.

How are you gonna setup your preload check with a solid lifter?????

You can pump it up by hand to make it more solid, which is what I plan on doing. I am also using checking springs, but they don't leave a very discernable pattern due to the light pressure. Since I am installing Morel lifters, ruining one of those is out of the question.
