numbers in sig on a conservative tune..
I picked up 8.5 mph and dropped over 1 second in the 1/4 adding a full exhaust, LS6 intake, LS6 cam and ASP pulley, with my tuning (track tune is alot more aggressive)
Also, I picked up about 40 rwhp and 25 rwtq under the curve were the stock cam died off just from the cam swap alone.
Look for a used 02+ LS6 cam, you can find them cheap, as well as the intake..
If you get the combo right with the powerband the LS6 cam works very well for the money, although most people will come on here and tell you to go bigger..

I'm getting right at 370hp with my set-up. I'm going a little bigger. My hope was to have a cam but no one know it. I was very pleased when I finished my tune and saw my numbers. I'm going to be installing a MTI SII cam as soon as I get the time for the install.

Kind of off topic but does anybody know if the ls6 cam will pass the sniffer test in cali? I would like to change the cam now that I have the engine apart for an oil pump swap but I have to smog the car in about four months.

yes. there is no reason why it wouldnt. people are passing with 224 duration.680 lift cams. the ls6 cam is between 205 and 215 duration and .525 and .550 lift depending on the year. I might be off just a little bit on the ls6 cam specs, but do a search and see what people are passing with

For comparsion, there is a guy here in my town with LPE heads/GT2-3 cam that made decent dyno numbers.. but traps like 4 down from me at the track (ET is way off, due to worse 60' times, but trap speed is a better comparsion).
dyls1 -- you need a tune with any mods that alter the airflow in/out of the motor.. but at a bare minium you would need to get the limiter raised to 6600 to be able to get all the power out of the cam.
the LPE cam might make a little more power, but I don't see paying 3x the amount for 5 peak hp.. and even at that the combination and tuning is where it's at.. not just the cam. I outrun guys all the time with "more" horsepower than me.
