Default 408 loosing coolant under rocker covers and header bolt holes

Hi just finished my 408 project a few days ago, drive 50 mile and checked for leaks. I notice that there was a lot of steam coming out of the oil fill point and codensation on the cap, I removed the rocker covers and there was small amount of water all over the inside of the cover I am at a loss as to where its coming from, do the rocker bolts go through the water jacket on ported heads (sig). I was removing the headers for a new set and I also noticed coolant leaking from the header bolt holes at least 2-3 on both sides, I am using ARP header studs. please help. thanks
plugs are dry

If everything wasn't perfect, you probablly have a leak with your cometics. It's not uncomon for them to leak. You probablly have a leak that is going into the lifter valley, which would give you the steam in the covers. That'd be my first guess anyway seeings how that's the only intrance into the covers.
