Default easy cam questions

i have 6.0 in a rcsb with a 221/221 cam it is 114+4 i have a stock timing chain is there a way to advance retard with stock timing chain. I would like to move my powerband up in the rpm range? what can i do besides swaping for a new cam or buying an adjustable timing chain.

thanks

Get the Moroso offset bushing set. You drill out the dowell pin hole on the cam sproket and insert a bushing with the offset that represents the advance or retard that you want. It's an old school approach, but it works. Otherwise, buy a Comp adjustable timing set and just use the cam sproket on your stock chain.

Just to be clear, you would want to retard the cam for more high RPM, maybe 4 degrees to a 'straight up' IVC position, or even 2 degrees retarded from there, if you're sure that won't kill too much bottom end power. (I'd try 4 first though, and do your best to get a before and after dyno check, as the Butt Dyno is notoriously for telling you what you want to hear.)

Definitely the cheapest way. Probably only $10-20. Order from Summit or Jegs.

I did this bushing mod and it is very simple if you use a drill press. If I remember correctly I did not drill hole completely thru cam sprocket, I drilled hole so bushing set slightly below flush.
