Default Will my lifters survive this cam?

I am going to a larger cam for my 408 and I am wondering if my lifters (comp 850s) will make it, or just assplode....

Cam is a comp 247/252 .647/.644 113+0
Springs are PRC .650 duals

I've been running a Trex for a few thousands miles without problems.

I really don't want to change lifters to morel$ if I don't have to.

That big of cam willl be hard on all of your valvetrain. Better to replace them while you have it apart.

I would never run comp-Rs....

The only lifters I've ever seen fail for defects were comp-r's....

If I HAVE to change lifters to run this cam I won't run it. I'll just spray a little more.... I see no point in dropping another $500 on lifters $400 on a cam to gain 25-30whp....

It's going to depend more on the spring pressure and the kind of camshaft lobe you're running. I would run those springs or those lifters with that cam but that's just me.

Personally Ive NEVER had a problem with a stock lifter.....I wouldn't change em. If you have ENOUGH spring for the cam and the PRCs or Patriot Golds are enough you wont have any problems. I recently bent 10 valves at 6000+ rpm when my stock timing chain let loose....with comp hardened pushrods. The stock lifters with 47,000 miles still look like new and they went back in with the new heads. Those same lifter have around 20,000 miles on em with a comp XER lobe and ISKY springs.

Yeah, I've seen more than a few instances of the roller coming apart....
